USB 2.0, RS-232 and audio extenders over HDBaseT

8/11/2020

Using the the ultra compact Kramer PT-2UT/R KIT you can not only transmit USB 2.0, RS-232 and audio signals over HDBaseT twisted pair cable but also to carry out remote charging (including quick charging) of up to 4 devices over USB-port. Among connected devices there can be smart boards, touch screens, cameras, smartphones, headphone sets, game controllers, devices such as a mouse or keyboard as well as any other peripheral device with USB-A connector.

Due to the possibility of connecting power adapter only to one of transmitter/receiver KIT device (Power Over Cable (PoC) technology) installation gets more simple with lesser number of cables in use. Extension line reach is up to 100 m using Kramer UNIKAT twisted pair cable and up to 30 m using CAT 5e cables.

PT-2UT/R KIT can be used for connecting a local host to peripheral devices employing either interrupt, bulk or isochronous USB 2.0 standard data transfer communication. Audio signals are transmitted via the same HDBaseT line being used for data and control signals transfer.

The novelties are designed in compact PicoTOOLS® fan—less enclosure due to low heat radiation. Thanks to that they allow for device—back or side—by—side mounting of 4 units in a 19-inch 1U rack space with the recommended rack adapter.
